Functions in innate immune response probably through regulation of autophagy. May regulate proinflammatory cytokine production and prevent endotoxemia upon infection. May also play a role in macrophages adhesion and motility (By similarity). ; Belongs to the TRAFAC class dynamin-like GTPase superfamily. IRG family.
