Dickkopf-like protein 1; Involved in fertilization by facilitating sperm penetration of the zona pellucida. May promote spermatocyte apoptosis, thereby limiting sperm production. In adults, may reduces testosterone synthesis in Leydig cells. Is not essential either for development or fertility.
